GOTHAM GAC-2 was introduced as a high quality, two-conductor alternative to the classic Gotham GAC-3 cable that had long been associated with Neumann microphones. Not quite as small and lightweight as GAC-3 and with a bit thicker stranding, GAC-2 nevertheless offered better shielding and higher strand count conductors than most competitive cables. The Double Reussen Shielding common to Gotham GAC-2, GAC-3 and GAC-4/1 provides highly effective protection against RFI.

It has proven over two decades to be a cost-effective, high performance product for a very wide range of balanced audio applications that did not require the unique advantages and construction of three and four conductor cables.

In recent years there have been significant price increases for all Gotham cables, but especially for GAC-2. But we now offer a very limited opportunity to acquire assemblies built with Gotham GAC-2 Cable and high quality nickel XLR connectors, at a price that takes you back 6 years.

We simply took our stock of roll remnants, which we have been accumulating since 2004, and cut them to 20 foot lengths for assemblies. Most of these remnant rolls were attractive matte colors.

The first number is the cable type:

  •    2 - GAC-2 mic
  •    3 - GAC-3 classic mic and interconnect
  • 4/1 - GAC-4/1 low capacitance mic and interconnect

The second number is the length in feet.

The final two letters are the connector type and style:

  • Connector Type: S - Switchcraft or N - Neutrik
  • Style: S - Nickel Shell, Silver Pins or B - Black Shell, Gold Pins.

Last is the cable color.

Super-Economical Microphone Cable

DGS-2 and GYME-200 Microphone cables are made in the same factory as world renowned Gotham Cable, using the same quality materials. They differ primarily in that they have a single layer of shielding, instead of the famed Gotham Double Reussen Shielding. Their performance is comparable to any good quality conventional microphone cable. These cables were produced in 2010/2011. The DGS-2 is a standard Gotham product. GYME-220 is an identical product branded with a private lable (Gotrik). It was originally produced as a house brand for a former Gotham distributor in Mexico.

These were a custom-branded clone of DGS-1 produced in 2010/2011 for an international client of the Swiss manufacturer. They backed out of the deal and a huge quantity of unsold cable now resides in our US warehouse. We are selling it off at ridiculously low prices.
